Life is nothing without the element of chance. Kaci Brown and Sam Gray are living proof that you never know what can happen! It started out as an arranged professional collaboration on one single, and blossomed into a creative partnership of writing, touring and recording as Brown & Gray. They then became a couple, and married in their backyard in Goodlettsville, TN, August 22, 2020. We can only guess how much of that would have happened without the support of Country music fans everywhere on “Top Downâ€.
Since the release of their debut single, "Top Down", the Anglo-US duo have barely had time to draw breath. The single was initially championed as a ‘Highway Find’ on the biggest national country music station, SiriusXM’s - The Highway, and has gone on to receive over 1,400 plays on the station as well as thousands more spins across country music airwaves from a host of stations all over America. They were featured in Rolling Stone’s Top 10 Country Artists to watch in 2018 which brought an agency deal with William Morris Endeavor Nashville, leading to more than 30 festival shows including Stagecoach, Faster Horses, and many others.
Their success spread further when the single was playlisted on both Radio Disney and Hits1, spending a month in the Billboard Top 40 airplay chart - some 15 months after its original release. B&G’s story spread back across the Atlantic when BBC Radio 2 added the record to their playlist for a month with the song reaching the Top 10 most played on the station.
Now, over 15 million streams, 50,000 iTunes downloads and millions of YouTube views later, Kaci & Sam release their brand new single “Make You Mineâ€, a song they premiered acoustically in their recent Sirius/XM Highway Finds Fest set. The feedback has been amazing and registered as one of the most talked about performances on HFF.
As songwriters, the last year has been particularly stellar with Sam scoring a platinum US single with the Chainsmokers “Takeawayâ€, followed by Sam & Kaci together, writing two Number 1 Country Airplay singles with Australian Country artist, Casey Barnes. Their song, "Sparks Fly" had an 8 week run at #1 and their 2nd collaboration, "We're Good Together" was #1 for 5 weeks on the Official Australian Country Airplay Chart.
