American-based Australian country music star Shea Fisher has announced the release of her first single in five years, "TAKE ME BACK TO TEXAS" (out March 3), a beautifully heartfelt song that reflects her love of the western lifestyle and speaks to her authentic self.
Shea achieved six #1 Country singles in Australia while signed to ABC Music as well as a Top 20 CMT video in the US for Don’t Chase Me. During the last five years she has led an incredibly busy and productive life, raising her three children with husband, world champion rodeo cowboy Tyson Durfey, and launching two highly successful entrepreneurial ventures: Shea Michelle Buckles and Shea Baby children’s western clothing (now in more 800 major stores across the US). In that time, she also established an online fitness and health program called Fit With Shea which has over 1000 subscribers and growing.
Music has always been in Shea’s heart, however, and with Tyson now retired from the US rodeo circuit and her children a little older, the time is right for this country hitmaker to make her mark on the music industry once again. As Shea has gradually built a more musical focus on her social media platforms, her following has grown from 30,000 to more than 300,000, and plans are now in place to release three new singles with accompanying music videos in 2025.
Co-written with Karyn Rochelle, Garth Brooks’ longtime harmony singer, and five-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter, Jessie Jo Dillon (Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Keith Urban and many more), "TAKE ME BACK TO TEXAS" is the first grand taste of Shea Fisher’s musical comeback, as she continues to dream big as an independent artist and conquer new horizons. Now in her mid-30s Shea hopes her comeback will inspire other women to realise that age and motherhood are not barriers to success.
“A year ago, I might’ve thought it was crazy to go on this whirlwind ride again,” Shea says. “But I now see that if you have a passion, it doesn’t matter how old you are – you just have to make it happen.”
“TAKE ME BACK TO TEXAS” is available now on all streaming and download platforms.
