With its first two releases making the Australian club charts (“The Saboteurs” by Gavin Campbell and Kid Massive & Backwood’s “Pride (A Deeper Love)”), Razor Recordings is excited to launch the Melbourne-based independent label’s first live and local recording artist, EVANGELINE.

Produced by award-winning producer and songwriter Pip Norman, (aka Count- bounce; 5THs; founding member of TZU), the 19-year old’s debut single is a hypnotic, dark electro-pop treat titled “CHEMICVL”.

Showcasing her jaw-dropping vocal range and songwriting prowess, the haunting lyrics tell a very personal story for Evie, (as she is known to her friends) whose songs reflect her own life experiences as well as the depression, addictions and sense of loss her friends all too often encounter. She wrote CHEMICVL while she was still at school and had lost a close friend to drugs. "I like to write about personal battles, I want to be honest - that is what people relate to." she says.

While there are more Pip Norman collaborations to come, Evangeline has also caught the attention of a diverse range of esteemed artists, including respected producer and songwriter, Jan Skubiszewski (Way of the Eagle), The Amity Affliction’s Dan Brown and acclaimed singer-songwriter, Mark Wilkinson, each with whom she has co-written, and Melbourne rapper, Bam Bam, who has her earmarked as guest vocalist on a forthcoming track after having her back him during his live Tram Sessions performance.

Born and raised in Geelong, Victoria, Evangeline is a classically trained singer and pianist, who also dabbles in guitar. She achieved the highest classical grade in opera after three gruelling years, leaving her with a remarkable range and power to her memorable vocals. But her love of pop led her in the direction of Razor Recordings, who snapped her up for her amazing breadth of talent and she cut her teeth in the recording studio as featured vocalist on their first club release, “The Saboteurs”, which attracted some of Australia’s hottest remixers and club chart frequent flyers, including Avon Stringer, Jack Love and Jordan Burns.

Well on her way to becoming a seasoned live performer, Evangeline has performed at her local pubs, bars and festivals – including Anglesea Music Festival and Teesdale Music Festival, and Melbourne venues, The Espy Front Bar and Mofo Lounge. Evangeline’s live shows in 2015 will have more of an electronic flavour, with Evie on keyboards (and that mesmerising voice) and backing on pads by local beatboxer/pro- ducer Branford Gruar (aka Awesome Welles).

“CHEMICVL” will be released digitally on June 19, 2015 through Razor Recordings, distributed by Xelon Entertainment.
