DJ’s and producers Jolyon Petch & Andy Murphy are the creative drive behind a new collaborative project - Murph & Petch.

Melbourne club 'The Emerson' bought the pairing together where both DJs mix up a blend of old and new songs. Paul Simon's 'You Can Call Me Al' was a classic that always stood out with it’s crowd response, so the pair went to work in the studio crafting a bootleg version to test out in the club. After a few weekends of playing it to awesome dance floor responses, they recruited Melbourne singer Livingstone to recreate the epic Paul Simon vocal.

With full creative control over the new version, the boys then transformed it into a more pop friendly mix which also saw the Brass player from Vance Joy's band lay down a catchy new trumpet hook to refresh this modern classic.

Those at Vicious Records had already heard the bootleg in the clubs and once they knew the vocal was re-sung, they signed the track. They then sought permission from the original writers who officially approved this version in early January and scheduled the release for Australia while taking interest from one of the worlds biggest dance music labels to release into Europe.
