Nakatomi is the collaboration between two seasoned performers in the Adelaide music scene who, after honing their skills in rock bands, decided to leave the band ethos behind and experiment with an electro sound.

Working with the renowned Adelaide producer, BadCop (known for Tkay Maidza's break out singles 'Brontosaurus' and 'Handle My Ego'), an experimental approach resulted in Nakatomi's debut release 'Golden Sun', a chillwave sci-fi tale of yearning and adversity. BadCop's inexplicable production sends in strong beats scattered by piano, synths and dreamlike vocals.

Friends since high school, the duo Hamish Cox and Emily Smart began writing collaboratively together 12 months ago, setting themselves a challenge to create something a little different from what they'd each done in the past. Nakatomi's sound fuses electro dance with a dark indie feel, lush arrangements, and with lyrics and melodies that are emotionally charged.

Nakatomi's debut EP is schedule for release early 2015.
