VRS.US is a collaboration between Tom and Maddy, who live in Brisbane and Adelaide respectively.
The sound is emotional, electronical alt pop with a dark twist. Between them, they have previous experience in performing with gold-album selling Australian bands, touring both nationally and internationally. The duo started working together mid 2014 and has been honing their sound and are ready to release their first single Get Your Way.
‘Get Your Way’ is one of the first songs that we started working on together, combining elements of story telling and dark pop production which could be likened to Florence and the Machine meets FKA Twigs.
The lyrics are honest and emotive, using the metaphor of a snake shedding its skin to touch on the struggles people face in life. The lyrics describe how we evolve to the world around us, our hunger for success and the frustration when we fail to conquer our desires – whether that be love, money or personal freedom.
