‘MEGALITHIC SYMPHONY’ TO BE RELEASED VIA SHOCK MAY 25, 2012 IN AUSTRALIA/ NZ

The debut album from Los Angeles band AWOLNATION, featuring the single ‘Sail’ that has become a hit in the U.S. (nearing Platinum) and Canada (nearing Double Platinum) is now set for release in Australia/ NZ on May 25, 2012.

Hit singles are great, but for every real artist the dream when they go into the studio is to make music that reaches people, songs that strike a deep chord and resonates with audiences well after the track ends.

For Aaron Bruno, the architect of AWOLNATION, hearing that his brilliant Megalithic Symphony has achieved that lofty ambition with anyone is the greatest reward of the success the band is enjoying now.

“There’s a good amount of word of mouth stuff going on with this record where I meet fans after the show and they’re like, ‘Oh man, I hadn’t heard of you guys and my friend turned me on and it’s my favorite record in the last 10 years,’” Bruno says. “People are saying stuff like that to me, which is obviously the goal and it blows my mind.”

‘Sail’ has been the sound bed to one of the most amazing extreme sports clips you will see, featuring famed base-jumper/ skydiver Jeb Corliss click to view. The clip adds a whole new dimension to the track, and has had over 12 million views to date. ‘Sail’ was also used in a spoof clip that has had over 7m views click to view.

The single reached Top 5 at U.S. alternative radio and was the #2 most played Alternative single of 2011 with 60,000+ spins (behind only Foster The People’s ‘Pumped Up Kicks’) and was the #1 Canadian Rock single.
