If you don’t know who Butterfly Boucher is - you should!
Now based in Nashville, Adelaide born Butterfly began her musical quest at the age of 10 when her father taught her to receord on a four-track recorder. Her music career began when started playing bass guitar in her sister Becca’s band The Mercy Bell. Quickly moving onto her own musical adventures, multi instrumentalist Butterfly released her debut album ‘Flutterby’ on A&M Records in 2003, helping her score the opening slot on US tour for Sarah McLachlan on one of her arena tours. In 2004 Butterfly recorded a duet with David Bowie for movie Shrek 2. Her second album ‘Scary Fragile’ was released in 2009 with single ‘A Bitter Song’ being featured on Grey’s Antamony. In 2011 Butterfly toured with Sarah McLachlan again this time playing bass in her band and then finally settled down to produce Missy Higgin’s long awaited third album due for release this June.
Still finding time in her busy schedule Butterfly happily wrote and co-produced her third studio album with heartfelt sincerity, which is playfully tongue in cheek and funnels her musical experimental spirit, crafting smart indie-pop songs with alt-rock with killer hooks that leaves everybody wanting to hear more.
5678! was the first taste and single off Butterfly Boucher’s self-titled and first independent release. It was previewed as the sought after single of the Week on iTunes in Australia leading up to it’s release in March, the quirky and fun music video has also been featured on various websites in Australia and the US, including NME in the UK.
