I was brought up in a non conformist, all female household - mother, grandmother & aunt. I rebelled in school but got the grades. I started playing the piano by ear when I was 4 and for most of my life I have been dancing and singing, putting on relentless shows for family, neighbours or for anyone who cared. When I was 14, I started singing with a mad mad mad woman in the city and she helped inspire my crazy career plans- 'Finish school. Get an agent. New York.' I finished school, then stalked, harassed and got an agent by giving the poor woman a long speech on why she should take me on. She did & the first audition I went for, I got. I was paid the princely sum of $500 which then and now is still something I am proud of. After auditioning for NIDA young actors, I anxiously awaited their response, got in and discovered it to be a spiritless course that left me totally uninspired. Next step, New York and my love affair with the city begins. I auditioned like mad and started performing small gigs around the East Village and partying. Way too much partying. I travelled back & forth between New York, London & Berlin, performing anywhere & everywhere I could from small, shitty venues to train stations & parties. After living in London for a while, I headed back to Manhattan, auditioned for drama school and got in. Whilst I was at drama school I continued doing small acoustic gigs in the East Village and it was at one of these gigs that I met the people that would change the course of my life forever. Next stop, home – 'Australia', form my own production company and then sign to Universal. The drama continues......
