Asta returns to the spotlight with “Want You To Know” – a song destined to become one of Summer 2020’s pop gems. The track shimmers with nostalgic synth-pop and early Whitney tones.

Produced by Patrick Liney (Cosmos Midnight) and Yeo, the song came about “after listening and dancing to Mark Ronson tracks all day in the studio with Yeo, and good friend Janeva. I just love working with people who bring a good vibe to the room, and oh yeah they gotta dance well too” says Asta. During her tour with Cosmos Midnight, she played the track to Patrick who then laid down the final icing on the production, making it a cake full of funk and flavour.

Speaking about the inspiration for “Want You To Know”, Asta says, “It was really just about a certain booty call, but he lived very very far away which drove me crazy.”

Noting names like Gwen Stefani, Sophie Ellis Bexter, and Jamiroquai as inspirations, Asta loves “their freaky beats and unusual lyric ideas”. This year Asta’s calendar has seen her touring with Cosmos Midnight across Asia, playing Splendour and Laneway stages, collaborating with Luke Million, Japanese Wallpaper, and Genesis Owusu.

Asta was born in Southern Tasmania in a forest on the tallest hill under the brightest star. Singing to animals outside her window and dancing with platinum blonde wigs on her head, her parents picked up pretty quickly that it was time to brush the knots out of her hair and buy her a guitar. Bashing out The Veronicas “Untouched” to the locals at age 7 and making some decent coin, she looked beyond the mountains and dreamt up a dream she’s been forever chasing since.

Asta has achieved incredible success independently hitting 7.5million plus streams for her single “Dynamite” and 2.5million plus streams on “Shine”.
