“From listening to the breezy lightness of the beginnings of this pop gem, you wouldn’t anticipate that brass is about
to enter the spectrum and pull up a pew at this philosophical garden party.
Cute and cosmic†– Inpress Magazine
“The whole thing comes up rather polished and assured†– Drum Sydney
EMMY BRYCE had one of the more exotic ones. It took place in Belgium. In her late teens, having downed strawberry-flavoured When it comes to debut performances, Melbourne songstress beers, Emmy hit the stage with a borrowed guitar and knew in a heart-beat she was going to be a musician.
Fast forward a few years and EMMY BRYCE is proudly releasing her brand new single ‘EVERY STAR IS A SETTING SUN TO SOMEONE’.
The sweet, fresh sounds of ‘EVERY STAR IS A SETTING SUN TO SOMEONE’ contains echoes of Regina Spektor (but less quirky) and Feist (but more upbeat). With stunning vocals and a breezy pop melody, it’s a song for a lazy summer day.
“Great voice, some sweet percussion ideas and lots of cool sounds besides….. good stuff†– Wally De Backer
Scoring a grant from the Victoria Rocks Program, Emmy is currently putting the finishing touches to her debut EP with the help of ARIA-nominated producer Jimi Maroudis (Eskimo Joe, Birtie Blackman) and Ben McCarthy (Pete Murray, Kate Miller-Heidke). The EP is due for release in 2012.
