Making her long-awaited return to the Sydney music scene, singer-songwriter, Sally Singleton is back from North London, where she spent her time writing, recording and touring. Sally hit the UK’s thriving singer songwriter circuit, road testing new material day in day out all, over the country, accompanied by her band, which included the accomplished, Steve Young (guitarist for Darren Hayes), Owen Stephen (The October Game) and drummer, Jean van Wyngaardt.

“When I wasn't recording, rehearsing or performing I was in my small flat, which I shared with an English actor and three musicians,” Sally says of her time away.

“Living in such a creative, inspirational space and being mostly alone in London, I completely consumed myself more than ever in music and song writing. Life in London was challenging and tough but it was definitely a huge learning experience for me that I will forever appreciate and love.”

Out of her comfort zone, but in the musical hub of Camden, Sally embedded herself in the eclectic and vibrant creative heart of London and began to build a name for herself in the local music scene. Swapping notes and stories with her musical neighbours including Moby drummer, Richie Mills, Sally drew inspiration from the like-minded and determined artists she met.

Collaborating with some of the industries most experienced and acclaimed artists, Sally’s soon-to-be-released album was recorded in London’s infamous Brittania Row Studios (Pink Floyd’s old studios) and features a rocky number she wrote with Aussie music-legend, Jon Stevens (INXS and Noiseworks) called Obscene Love.

The long awaited return of the Sydney born and bred blonde to our shores has seen Sally sign with Phat Planet Music and team up with mixing superstar, Justin Shave (The Potbelleez, Darryn Hayes) for her newest single, Over Now, to hit radio and iTunes from April. A leap away from her previous sound, the songstress’ new music is set to wow the radio charts and heat up dancefloors with its sexy electric pop and slightly darker vibe.

Having come a long way since the release of her debut single, Tomorrow (produced by Jimmy Harry – Pink and Britney Spears) in 2009, the gorgeous and down to earth blonde has had an incredible journey, touring with the likes of Wes Carr and Jon Stevens and making a name for herself as a popular live performer with an explosive and contagious energy. Sally’s anticipated debut album with renowned producer, Tom Nichols (Kylie Minogue, All Saints, Tom Jones, Delta Goodrem) includes the hit track, Some Kind of Loving’ which also features on the U2 Soundtrack for the hit comedy film, Killing Bono.
