Wyn Starks is already well-known for his 2020 appearance on America’s Got Talent and his “Black Is Golden” album, with songs like “Who I Am” garnering 2.7 million YouTube views and charting #14 on the Billboard charts. The Curb Records signee’s journey began in Minneapolis, where he grew up with his mother and four brothers. He listened to a wide variety of music, from the gospel harmonies of artists like Yolanda Adams and The Clark Sisters to Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. At 13 he sang an original song entitled “Angel City”, at church, thrilling churchgoers and affirming his potential. Eventually, he directed his church’s youth choir and praise team and joined a traveling ministry.

Starks then moved to Dallas, where a viral video of him singing caught the attention of producer and songwriter Fred Williams, who invited Starks to Nashville to work on music together. He released his debut single “Circles” in 2019 and crafted his 2021 “Black Is Golden”. Collaborating with professional songwriters and musicians throughout the country, Starks also toured as an opening act on folk band Delta Rae’s 2020 and 2023 national tours.

Starks spent the majority of 2023 prepping his sophomore album while out on the road with Delta Rae. The new project is a mesh of his R&B and soul influences, but will also be imbued with elements of pop, 80s rock, and other sounds that radiate his preferred vibe of timeless, feel-good music. Starks has always been a student of music, but now he’s more confident in jumping out of his comfort zone and exploring all kinds of sounds as an artist.
