Linked by bonds of blood and friendship, Black Fox is the evolution of acclaimed Melbourne band, The Smoke. Known for their high energy, attitude and a brilliant live show, the boys are back and sure to impress with their new indie-pop single, Day In Lieu, set for radio service on April 2.
With hazy vocals, intriguing melodies and foot to the floor stomp-ability, Day In Lieu is the sound of Black Fox and nobody else. “We’ve had a lot of songs up our sleeve for years, and we really pained over the arrangement and recording of every single one of them,†says frontman Dane Robertson who is excited and relieved to be unveiling the band’s first single.
Never doing things by halves and always aiming to please their fans, Black Fox will be launching a very special, limited edition 7-inch vinyl of the double A-side. Acknowledging that most people who purchase physical copies of music these days tend to be the real music enthusiasts, Dane explains, “we also mixed these songs to sound best on hi-fi systems and so vinyl seemed like the natural choice.â€
Keep an eye out for the release of the band’s debut full-length album, Line Of Sight, set for release later in the year.
