If you’d like to watch the Entertainment Rule Book being thrown out the window, be sure to witness one of Boyce Avenue’s Australian shows, if you can manage to get a ticket. In their first ever visit to Australia later this August, brothers Alejandro, Daniel and Fabian have already sold out shows in Sydney in Melbourne and their surging fan base is demanding more shows and increased capacity venues.
As a result of this demand Live Nation will now move Melbourne’s show (scheduled for August 25 at The Corner) to The Forum, the Sydney show (scheduled for August 26 at The Metro) will now move to the roomier Enmore Theatre.
“Our fans around the world have always been the lifeblood of what we do. It’s always exciting when we finally get a chance to come play in person for the people who have supported our music from afar. Our Australian fans in particular have been among the best and we look forward to arriving very soon†commented Boyce Avenue member Daniel Manzano.
Boyce Avenue began posting videos to Youtube in 2007 featuring performances of their own music as well as some re-imagined covers of songs by various popular artists and artists they loved such as Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Coldplay, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Tracy Chapman and unearthed an instant resonance with fans around the world . Since then the band have amassed over 325 million Youtube views and feature among the “most searched forâ€. Their Facebook likes have now exceeded half a million and every new posting is accompanied by a flurry of viral attention. Even with so many watching online there’s a unique intimacy between artist and fan that easily translates to the band’s overwhelmingly fun live shows.
In 2009 the band performed to an estimated 25,000 fans in the Philippines and then commenced their first headline tour of the US with a string of sold-out shows. The next step was to introduce the live show to Europe via their headline tour later that year and their extensive list of dates led to a number of sell-outs, including both Germany and UK.
Boyce Avenue found time to release their first album, All We Have Left, on their own label 3 Peace Records. The first single, Every Breath (serviced to Australian media this week), reveals an enormously sophisticated appreciation of the song in it’s purest form and indeed rivals their many interpretations of other classics.
The next chapter of Boyce Avenue’s journey is to be played out in Australia this August, and it’s time you saw it for yourself – tickets are on sale now and selling fast!
