With their critically acclaimed 2012 debut, A History Of Houses, Perth roots-rock powerhouse, The Siren Tower reimagined Aus-rock, and in doing so reignited a long latent national sound.

Described by Martin Boulton of The Age as “one of the most compelling, distinctly Australian albums in years”, A History Of Houses confirmed The Siren Tower as one of the country’s most electrifying and heartfelt musical arrivals. Now, The Siren Tower release King River, a fervent exploration of the past and one of the shining moments from their debut.

“King River is about returning to familiar places to seek refuge,” explains singer, Grant McCulloch.

“It’s about discovering that these places, these ports, they weary with time just as we do. They offer respite, but often their power lies in association with a memory, and sooner or later the world comes knocking.”

King River is accompanied by a vivid and striking film clip directed by Melbourne talent, Tim Brade and bolted together by McCulloch himself.

“We’re very hands on across the board, and the visual aspect of the band is no different. We always throw on the producers hat for clips and we often handle the post-production,” says McCulloch.

As they have often done over the last two years, The Siren Tower will be crossing sands and seas from late October taking their powerful live show around the country on The King River Tour in support of the new single.
