“Starlight Theatre aren’t short on energy as they work the nubile audience into pop-rock bliss. The local four-piece nail the quiet/loud dynamic down to a tee, interspersing clean verses with chunky choruses and frequently launching into Californian rock-inspired riffage.” - DENIS SEMCHENKO (Rave Magazine)

Brisbane four-piece, Starlight Theatre could be described as a cosmic mixture/violent clash of Jimmy Eat World, Anberlin, Angels and Airwaves and a smidge of U2.

Having formed in 2006 under the guise of Falling Short, the band have grown from strength to strength having played over 300 shows including landing high profile supports with American rockers Switchfoot, MxPx and Antiskeptic. The four-piece also released a self titled EP independently which spawned two singles- ‘Supernova’, which received mild airplay across the country and throughout Paris and New York; and ‘Billboards’, which held the coveted number one position on the Triple J Unearthed National Charts for four weeks.

Their new EP ‘True Love Stories Never Have Endings’ features four rock/pop songs which demonstrate a big sound, big production and great catchy songs that will stick in your head. Recorded with Matt Bartlem (The Butterfly Effect) and mixed by Forrester Savell (Delta Goodrem, Karnivool, Birds of Tokyo, Shannon Noll, Human Nature, Calling All Cars) this EP is already getting rave reviews and is creating rapid momentum.

The EP features the infectious single ‘How Long’, with catchy melodies and strong lyrics, the song is turning heads in both the live and recorded arenas. Guitarist Colin Moore explains, "The song is about seeing someone you care about hurting, but feeling like your hands are tied with not much to offer . . . just hoping being there will be enough”.

Recently, Starlight Theatre were named finalists in the ‘New Artist to Radio’ competition, an initiative that provides a platform for independent artists to gain airplay alongside major label artists. Combined with being short listed for Triple M's Bon Jovi tour support and already popular club shows, 2011 looks like a promising year for the quartet.

For four lads who originally hailed from Central Queensland, this is one Brisbane band you’re about to hear a lot more of!
