Following their latest album's first two hits 'Mousetrap Heart' and 'All My Life', Thirsty Merc are back with arguably their strongest single to date. 'Tommy and Krista', after its recent release in New Zealand, raced to #3 on the iTunes charts, and the video has already climbed to nearly 300,000 Youtube hits. It appears that we just might have ourselves another Thirsty Merc classic to sit alongside 'In The Summertime', '20 Good Reasons', and 'Someday Someday'.

'Tommy and Krista’ is a truly endearing tale about first love, cleverly brought to life by Rai Thistlethwayte's classic penmanship. It's storytelling at its best, with hooks a-plenty and an uplifting gospel-esque chorus that just makes you feel good. With the latest album 'Mousetrap Heart', Thirsty Merc set out to reinvent themselves and they couldn’t be more pleased by the results. “Yeah, it’s a leap,” Rai says. “It just feels like it’s different in the best possible way.” It's Thirsty Merc’s third studio album and, without question, the band’s most accomplished yet.

The home grown four piece are gradually revealing more and more of their freakish musicianship. Now with 250,000 albums sold, more than 300 live shows under their belt, 4x ARIA Award nominations, and a nomination for APRA’s Song of The Year Award, Thirsty Merc have earned their stripes, with plenty more in the tank.

Thirsty Merc are touring nationally August-September 2011.
