2024 could be Casey Barnes’ biggest year to date kicking it off with his first ARIA Gold Record for God Took His Time On You presented at his Sold Out Long Yard Hotel show in January this year.
Casey’s brand new album ‘Mayday’ hit airwaves in late May and debuted on the ARIA Charts with #1 Australian Country Album, #2 Australian Album, #2 Overall Country Album and #11 Overall Album a huge accomplishment driven by the fans. Leading into the album singles Miracles, Boys Like Me, Never Give Up On A Good Time and Summer Nights climbed to the #1 position in the Australian CountryTown Airplay Charts, with Mayday holding the top spot for four weeks. Summer Nights was also awarded the Most Played Country Work at this years APRA Awards.
Casey and his bands electric live show has seen them perform at this years CMC festival, CMA Fest in Nashville, and Stagecoach, the largest Country Music Festival in the world. An Australian tour to support his latest album is also scheduled for later in the year.
These 2024 highlights follow on from a massive 2023 for Casey, picking up Golden Guitar Award wins for Album of the Year and Top Selling Album of the Year for his 2022 album, Light It Up, along with the APRA Award for Most Performed Country Work for God Took His Time On You. Light It Up also took out the 2022 ARIA Award for Best Country Album. The album debuted at #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album chart and #3 on the All-Genre Australian Album chart, and spent over twenty months in the Top 20 of the ARIA Australian Country Album chart. Casey’s catalogue has amassed over 60 million combined streams world wide and his music is a fixture on television both in Australia (Light It Up used for the AFL season launch TV advertisements and Get To Know Ya featuring on the Farmer Wants A Wife launch campaign) and the U.S. (We’re Good Together on Live With Kelly and Mark; and Never Give Up On A Good Time featuring in the CBS promos for NYE Live: Nashville’s Big Bash.
