JUNO and 9x CCMA Award-winning country band The Washboard Union, are set to release their new single “Band On Her T-Shirt” to Australian Country radio.
It’s carefree summertime country anthem, with production that showcases the band’s ever-evolving sound while highlighting their signature vocal harmonies. The song celebrates a love of live music, and the artists that create it.
It’s the sixth track of new material, from The Washboard Union from their forthcoming album, “WESTERLY”, due on July 12, 2024 via Universal Music. “WESTERLY” is above all a call home to the wild landscapes of the Canadian west that have fueled and inspired the band from their very beginnings, and the songs exemplify the band’s unabashed love affair with country music. Lyrically, the new collection of songs is authentic, honest, fearless, and inspiring, and the album reveals a deeper, more “country” side to the band’s sound than ever before.
The album will feature other recent releases including: “Drink Em Up”, "Neon Needs The Night", and hit radio tracks “I Run on Country”, which reached #13 at Canadian country radio and “Gather Round” (Top 40).
The Washboard Union, composed of step-brothers Aaron Grain, Chris Duncombe and their best friend David John Roberts, are one of Canada’s top country bands, known for their signature vocal harmonies, and dynamic live performances.
Some of the band's many successes include over 85 million streams, 380,000 radio spins, one Platinum and four Gold-certified singles in Canada, nine Top 10 hits, and an awe-inspiring 35+ total award wins including JUNO and CCMA Awards.
2024 will see The Washboard Union on the road for their busiest summer and fall to date, with performances across Canada from coast to coast.
